The Corner Office in Gurgaon is a testament to how compact spaces can be transformed into functional and aesthetically pleasing work environments. Designed by Mold Design Sudio, this 1300 sq. ft. office space for an architectural MEP consultant demonstrates how thoughtful design can overcome the challenges of limited square footage.
The office layout is an open plan, characterized by high ceilings and an abundance of natural light, creating a workspace that enhances productivity. The design brief called for a space that could accommodate 45 workstations, two director workstations, a casual meeting table, and essential utilities like a pantry, restrooms, and a printer/plotter station.
Embracing an industrial loft-inspired aesthetic, the interiors are marked by transparency and an innovative approach to typically concealed services like plumbing, electrical systems, and air conditioning. These elements are celebrated through the use of vibrant colors, showcasing the firm’s expertise in architectural MEP design.
Concrete flooring paired with an exposed ceiling brings cohesiveness to the space, while a suspended metal grid framework integrates the lighting system. Lighting plays a crucial role in this design, with a blend of natural light and a combination of suspended and surface-mounted lights creating a layered and efficient environment. The natural light, managed by blinds to control glare, not only makes the space appear larger but also infuses it with positive energy.
The color palette is predominantly muted, with warm greys and browns providing a welcoming atmosphere, punctuated by vibrant pops of orange, black, and blue. Contemporary furniture with sleek metal structures and wooden finishes complements the industrial theme, while organized storage along circulation paths, featuring black chalk-finished shutters, adds an interactive element to the workspace.
