Nestled within the hustle and bustle of the city, a former hair salon underwent a dramatic transformation under the deft touch of the Maurice Martel architecte Studio. A task which may seem daunting to many, the Studio saw this as a golden opportunity to showcase its prowess in efficient space transformation, and with a careful, thoughtful approach, they set out to metamorphose this once ordinary, single-leveled space into a vibrant architectural office.
At the heart of this transformation was a unique structural modification. The Studio ingeniously utilized a previously neglected crawl space to amplify the ceiling height. This seemingly minor adjustment unlocked a world of possibilities. It paved the way for the installation of expansive windows that invited an abundance of natural light, which spilled into the office, creating a sense of openness, a key ingredient for a stimulating work environment.
Customization and innovation were the two guiding principles for the Studio throughout the project. Every element in the new layout, from the conference room furniture to the doors with atypical proportions, was meticulously thought out and custom-made.
