Spread across 7400 sqft luxury this stunning home in DLF Camelias is adorned with opulence.
Located in Gurugram, the 7400-square-foot apartment in DLF Camellias serves as a weekend home for a 30-year-old bachelorette who loves entertaining guests. Designed and executed by Essentia Environments, the apartment’s overall design is centered around the breathtaking views in every direction – the expansive Golf greens, the nearby Lake, and the majestic Aravallis beyond. This design concept is enhanced by the tall ceilings, large glass windows, open layout, and a minimal palette of materials and colors.
According to Hardesh Chawla, the Principal of Essentia Environments, the client initially desired a 4BHK home like other apartments in Camellias. However, after several discussions, they decided on a three-bedroom layout that maximized the space for hosting and entertaining guests. The grandeur of the house is expressed through majestic chandeliers, marble flooring, and dramatic lighting, but it is balanced by intriguing and surprising elements throughout the space.
From the foyer, the home captures the youthful nature of the client through various artworks that serve as focal points, complemented by artistic decor in contrasting hues. Small nooks with interesting accent pieces throughout the house become conversation starters for both the inhabitants and guests. Examples of these accent pieces include an artificial planter that subtly nods to the entrance, guestroom, and powder room, as well as an eagle console that welcomes guests in the foyer.
The living and dining areas are seamlessly unified into an expansive, light-filled space, featuring floor-to-ceiling curtain windows that lead to a large balcony, maximizing the influx of natural light. This open expanse is visually divided into three distinct zones with a flexible furniture layout. The dining area is separated by a glass partition embellished with metal trims, adding a touch of opulence.
“We dislike corridors as they take up valuable space. Therefore, in this home, the spaces flow seamlessly into one another,” explains Hardesh. This free-flowing layout continues into the kitchen, which, although typically an unused zone in a bachelorette pad, receives a subtle yet sophisticated makeover with an Italian countertop and built-in cabinets. The kitchen is tactfully planned with an entry from the foyer, avoiding disturbances during parties and events.
The two master bedrooms, one for the son and the other for the parents, capitalize on natural light and outdoor views with large windows and balconies. To enhance the openness of these rooms, the respective bath spaces feature smart flip glass doors that switch between privacy and openness, allowing views even while soaking in a bubble bath. Additionally, the master bedroom includes a separate utility area with a hidden walk-in closet, dressing table, and ample storage.
“In any apartment, lack of storage becomes a major concern, and we addressed this by providing approximately 1000 square feet of storage area spread throughout the home. Even the media units, study nooks, and every corner have built-in storage that fulfills their required needs,” exclaims Hardesh Chawla.
A sense of continuity runs throughout the interiors, largely achieved through harmonious material and color choices. Stainless steel metal skirting is used on all the glass partitions, while the flooring features blue jeans marble and the walls are panelled with Leather marble, adding texture and distinguishing themselves from one another. Mirrors ranging from toughened glass to clear and tinted glass are also used to incorporate different textures and finishes.
While luxury living is synonymous with any apartment in DLF Camellias, this bachelorette apartment takes luxury to new heights, perfectly matching the user’s functional and design preferences.
